Announcing our newest feature: Campaigns

 In Blog, Feature Highlight

Do you remember writing notes and passing them in school? I sure do. I remember getting notes that were so intricately folded that it was more origami than note. At the time, that was the most advanced form of 5th grade communication. Sadly, note folding is a dying art among tween girls since it is not how people connect any longer. How people build connection changes with the times, but the desire to connect is a constant.

At aware3 we are continually looking for new ways to make connecting easier for you and your church. Connection is at the heart of what we are about, because it is at the heart of what the church is about. The aware3 platform has many ways to connect people to what’s happening in your church, to discipleship content, to your mission, to the information they need, to each other, and to giving. And now we are offering another way for people to connect: Campaigns.

People can engage in giving in a number of ways. Some people are regular tithers and give like clock work. There are many times that people give in response to a specific need or call and make a one-time gift. For others, giving to a mission or project is what engages their heart. When God pulls on the heart of someone to give, we want to make it easy for them to do it, no matter what form the gift takes.

Here is how it works:

Launching a campaign takes 4 easy steps:
1.    Create a Campaign in the aware3 Portal
2.    Share your project with people in your community
3.    Enable people to give through the aware3 app
4.    Use aware3’s many other tools to follow up and engage with donors

There are many types of campaigns that you might want to launch. Campaigns can support missions projects, provide support for specific missionaries,  respond quickly to meet emergency needs, fund building campaigns or support outreach projects. Here are a few examples of campaigns that might provide some inspiration for you to launch your first campaign:

Project Fresh Start

Goal: $50,000
Project: On any given night there are over 2500 people living on the streets of Kansas City. Our Mission at Grace Church is to bring hope to those in need. Our homeless outreach is one way we tangibly do that. Each year we provide clothing, household items and bedding for individuals transitioning from homelessness to a permanent home in partnership with City Gospel Mission. Your funds will help give someone a fresh start. Our goal is to support 200 individuals and families in 2016, with each family receiving $250 to spend on needed items. You can play a major role in giving someone a fresh start.

Summer Camp Scholorships

Goal: $15,000
Project: Each year we send our youth for a fabulous week of summer camp at Falcon Lake Retreat Center. Many children in our community cannot afford the $300 fee and miss out on the chance to hear the Gospel and grow in their understanding of God’s love for them. That’s why this year we are going to scholarship 50 children within our community who otherwise would never have an opportunity like this! Join us in sharing the Gospel with the children in our community.

The Great Expansion of 2016: It’s happening!!!

Project: $475,000
You may have noticed that things are getting tight around here. That is a great problem to have because it means we are growing!!! When we built our church in 2013, we hoped that this would happen and planned for this growth. This expansion will include 2 additional classrooms, doubling the youth room, and adding 500 seats to our sanctuary. Our goal is to complete all construction by Dec 15th, in time for our Christmas Celebration. To make this happen, we need your help. We ask you to pray about helping to support this project financially.

Jones’ Emergency Assistance

Project: $15,000
On Thursday, March 17th, the Jones family had a devastating electrical fire in their home. The fire substantially damaged their home and possessions. We are praising God that no one was injured, but they will be out of their home for 6-8 months while it is being restored. There are 3 ways you can support the family. First, pray for them, as this has significantly affected the children who are now dealing with fear and night terrors. Secondly, feel free to reach out to them to encourage them by providing gift cards for local restaurants while they get settled in their temporary housing. Lastly, they have lost most of their possessions, much of which is not covered by insurance.  Consider giving to this campaign to help replace clothing and household items for them as they rebuild their lives. This is our chance to BE the church and support a wonderful family.

Support the Anthony Family in Japan

Goal: $20,000
Project: We are so glad to have Steve and Kelly Anthony with us for the month of July. They are back home with us for a few weeks and will be sharing about the transformative work they are doing in Tokyo. In addition to the extensive church planting network that Steve has created, they have also launched a coffee shop using the business as missions framework. Join us in supporting their work and outreach efforts.

How will you use Campaigns to connect with people and engage them in ministry?
